Hey, Scouts!
Are you ready for the best Scout summer camp ever? Great! Whether you will be coming to Scout camp for the first time, or you are a veteran, you'll find more things than you can do in a week at S bar F Scout Ranch. The Ranch is 5,200 acres of woods, streams, trails and fun. On the 270-acre Nims Lake are three Scout camps: Sakima, Famous Eagle and Theodore Gamble. Each has 13 different campsites where troops camp. On your troop campsite, your patrol will camp separately and prepare its own meals.
There's plenty to do at Scout camp. You'll be able to swim twice a day, canoe, row, kayak, shoot a rifle, shoot archery, go to Hucks Cove, take an overnight canoe float and earn a few of the 25 different merit badges offered, as well as participate in the Order of the Arrow Call-out and Games Night. There will be campfire programs for the entire camp on Sunday and Friday nights. If you are feeling bold, swim the Mile Swim on Friday afternoon.
If you are at least 14 years old (or this is your fourth summer of Scout Camp), you can participate in the older Scout programs such as mountain biking, rappelling, rock climbing and horseback riding, canoe orienteering, and a night shoot. We will also offer kayak polo, ultimate frisbee, water tubing, and shotgun shooting. If you have the Lifesaving merit badge, you may want to earn the BSA Lifeguard certification.
2008 will be great for the Ranger Program for older Scouts. This high-adventure program is not for the weak at heart. check-out our new River Ranger program.
So get ready! Take a look at all the fun that happens . . . and Be Prepared!
