WELCOME TO SCOUTREACH
The Greater St.Louis Area Council is committed to insuring Scouting programs to all youth who want it.

"The mission of the Greater St. Louis Area Council Scoutreach program is to insure Scouting programs can be delivered and meet the needs of diverse economic, cultural and ethnic populations in all communities of our council."

The objective of the Scoutreach Division is to deliver a traditional Scouting program to youth in urban and rural areas by tailoring the program to meet the needs of  individual communities, while continuing to promote a quality Scouting program to existing areas.

Click here to learn more about the Soccer in Scouting program.

The Scoutreach Division is also about pooling community resources in an effort to:

  • Create awareness in the community.
  • Foster partnerships with other organizations in the community.
  • Develop independent, self-perpetuating local Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops and Venturing crews.
  • Increase the involvement of Hispanic, Vietnamese, Bosnian, Asian and African American communities.

Through Scoutreach, the council provides the following programs:

  1. Program Aides --  Part-time Council employees serving in the most at-risk areas of St. Louis. They are responsible for organizing and rebuilding units.
  2. CSAW/BSAW -- Cub Scout and Boy Scout Advancement Workshops are designed to provide a quality program to youth who might not otherwise have an opportunity to experience Scouting. Six sessions are held per school year. Volunteer district partners help deliver the program. Click here for more information.
  3. Camperships -- The council provides financial assistance to Scouts who need help attending camp on our properties.
  4. Factory Second Uniforms -- Low-cost uniforms will be provided to Scouts and leaders needing assistance.
