Welcome to the 2020 Greater St. Louis Area Council Annual Report!
2020 was a difficult year for many, but our Scouts and our program persevered. There’s a lot to be proud of from our work this last year and we’re excited to share the positive impact we’ve made in the community at a time when our communities needed that help the most.
Recruitment, Diversity & Advancement
GSLAC had the second highest recruitment in all of BSA this year, welcoming 3,177 new Scouts into the fold bringing out total number of Scouts served to a whopping 34,830!
We’re happy, not just of our status as the third-largest BSA council in the country, but as a leader in outreach, diversity, equity and inclusion.

Scouting For Food
We took on new challenges this year for one of our biggest community programs. For the first time, we introduced texting to give to allow our Scouting For Food efforts to continue, even during the pandemic. And our Scouts responded incredibly, helping us raise over $51,000 – enough for 200,000 meals – as well as collected an additional 145,000 food items throughout our council footprint’s many drop-off locations.
