Scouts and Scouters,

We would like to invite you and your unit to participate in the New Horizons Klondike Event to be held at Hidden Valley ski Resort in Far West St. Louis County. The event will be held January 26, 27, 28 and will feature Skiing and Snow Boarding on Saturday, January 27th. We have been able to arrange an unbelievable package deal for the Scouting Community. I say Scouting Community as we have not only opened this event up to Cub Scouts (Wolf, Bear, Webelo & Arrow of Light) Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venture Crews, but we have also invited some of our sister Districts to participate as well.

All are invited to camp Friday Night, Saturday Night, both nights or come just for the festivities on Saturday. Advance reservations are required. There are three main price points for the weekend. For those that are beginner Skiers or beginner Snow boarders, the price will be $30.00 per person. This price includes your Ski or Snow Board Equipment, a Helmet (required by BSA), Group Lessons, Lunch and access to all beginner areas (only). A map showing these areas can be found in the Manual and marked for Beginner Skiers & Snow Boarders (only).

For those that are intermediate or advanced Skiers or Snow Boarders, the price will be $40.00 per person. This price includes your Ski or Snow Board Equipment, a Helmet (required by BSA), Group Lessons, Lift Pass, Lunch and access to all to all Ski Runs throughout the park. The rst 250 youth that sign up will also receive a special embroidered Event Patch. If we have sucient numbers, we may be able to reorder additional patches to be given out at a later date. For those adults that are attending, but neither Skiing or Snow Boarding, the price is $10.00 per
person and includes Lunch.

We will also feature the Mini Iditarod race as we have for past Klondikes. This year we are looking forward to being able to race on Snow. Race time will begin at 3:00pm on Saturday afternoon. Please download and review our event in Manual. There are a number of very important points for those considering joining us. We hope that you and your unit will choose to join us for this very special Klondike, Januray 26, 27 and 28th. There is a very real possibility that this could be the one and only Klondike at Hidden Valley, given recent news reports that they may be forced to close down at the end of this winter season.
