Commissioners are district and council volunteer leaders who help units succeed. They coach and consult with Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, and Venturing adult leaders while helping to maintain the standards of the BSA. Commissioners also oversee the unit charter renewal plan so that each unit re-registers on time and with the optimum number of youth and adult members.
New commissioners should complete basic training during their first two months.
The Greater St. Louis Area Council switched March 1 to the new Commissioner Tools system in my.scouting.org. The system works better with Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome browsers. ADCs and DCs can make commissioner assignments through the Commissioners Administration area of the site. Commissioners can keep track of contacts, conduct assessments, and view training and membership info for their units.
