All Leaders are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting in which the Scouting Program for the following year will be revealed.
Commissioners are district and council volunteer leaders who help units succeed. They coach and consult with Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, and Venturing adult leaders while helping to maintain the standards of the BSA. Commissioners also oversee the unit charter renewal plan so that each unit re-registers on time and with the optimum number of youth and adult members.
New commissioners should complete basic training during their first two months.
Join us for this late-spring event, which is open to all GSLAC Scouters, highlighted by the presentation of the year’s Silver Beaver Awards. The Silver Beaver Award is the highest recognition a Boy Scout council can bestow on an adult volunteer leader. The award is presented to those volunteers who have provided noteworthy service that impacts the lives of youth and and has made outstanding contributions to the Scouting program.
Before recognizing award recipients, the Greater St. Louis Area Council approves its annual report, reviews the nominating committee’s report and reviews the previous year’s accomplishments and highlights during the annual meeting portion of the event.
