What is the Alumni Association?
The Greater St. Louis Area Council Alumni Association is a great way to stay connected to Scouts BSA. It is also your chance to help more youth experience the excitement, adventure, and life-changing Scouting programs. There are many opportunities for you to share your experiences from Scouting and serve as a great role model for the Scouts of today.

About Us
The purpose of the Greater St. Louis Area Council BSA Alumni Association is to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to foster lifelong relationships for alumni and encourage their gifts of time, talent, and philanthropy to Scouting. The association facilitates volunteer service to achieve established goals related to vibrant alumni membership programs, events, communications, awards, scholarships, council service, web stores, and revenue generation.
Who is considered Scouting Alumni?
Scouting Alumni are anyone positively and personally impacted by the Boy Scouts of America, including former youth members, family members of Scouts past and present, Wood Badge alumni along with community leaders, and millions of Americans who benefit from Scouting in their communities every day.

Recognition
There are many ways to recognize the contributions and accomplishments of Scouting alumni. Learn about them below and click here to find additional information and the application forms.
Scouting Alumni Service Commemoration
The BSA Alumni Association has developed a commemoration medallion to celebrate years of service provided by scouting alumni. This recognition represents and celebrates the good deeds and contributions of the recipients to youth. Each council will interpret the definition of service. A medallion is available for 25, 50, and 75 years of service through the BSA Alumni Store may be presented by units, districts, or councils.
Alumni Award
The Alumni Award is designed to actively encourage alumni to promote alumni activities in their council. It focuses on accomplishment in alumni service and development, emphasizing memories, marketing, mentoring, membership, manpower, and money.
Alumnus of the Year Awards
The Council Alumnus of the Year Award is given for exceptional service to the alumni movement on a council-wide basis. Each council may select one nominee for this award annually. The council must notify the national office of their selection, allowing accurate record-keeping and current website information. The national office will forward a Certificate to be signed locally for a formal presentation at a public event.
The Territories Alumnus of the Year Award is given for remarkable service to the Alumni movement above the Council level. A total of four awards are presented annually.
The National Alumnus of the Year Award is given for exemplary service to the alumni movement on a national level. One award is presented annually.
