Alumni, like you, are passionate voices that strengthen the program, promote alumni accomplishments, and celebrate the Scouting spirit and traditions.

What is the Alumni Association?

The Greater St. Louis Area Council Alumni Association is a great way to stay connected to the Boy Scouts of America. It is also your chance to help more youth experience the excitement, adventure, and life-changing Scouting programs. There are many opportunities for you to share your experiences from Scouting and serve as a great role model for the Scouts of today.

Recognition

Scouting Alumni Service Commemoration

The BSA Alumni Association has developed a commemoration medallion to celebrate years of service provided by scouting alumni. This recognition represents and celebrates the good deeds and contributions of the recipients to youth. Each council will interpret the definition of service. A medallion is available for 25, 50, and 75 years of service through the BSA Alumni Store may be presented by units, districts, or councils.

Alumni Award

The Alumni Award is designed to actively encourage alumni to promote alumni activities in their council. It focuses on accomplishment in alumni service and development, emphasizing memories, marketing, mentoring, membership, manpower, and money.

Alumnus of the Year Awards

The Council Alumnus of the Year Award is given for exceptional service to the alumni movement on a council-wide basis. Each council may select one nominee for this award annually. The council must notify the national office of their selection, allowing accurate record-keeping and current website information. The national office will forward a Certificate to be signed locally for a formal presentation at a public event.

The Territories Alumnus of the Year Award is given for remarkable service to the Alumni movement above the Council level. A total of four awards are presented annually.

The National Alumnus of the Year Award is given for exemplary service to the alumni movement on a national level. One award is presented annually.

We are excited to launch a strategic plan to increase alumni engagement and build on our culture of philanthropy.

A highly coordinated alumni engagement program that focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion will enable the Alumni Association to organize in service to the Greater St. Louis Area Councils' highest priorities. We belong to a large and supportive community of alumni, parents,  and families connected by our love of Scouting.

Consider joining our online networking and mentorship platform if you enjoy helping Scouts or other Alumni by providing advice, mentorship, and networking opportunities. You can control your level of engagement, and any level of support is of tremendous value to our Scouts and the Greater St. Louis Area community.
