Volunteer Recognition

It’s recognition season! We encourage unit leaders to nominate a volunteer from their unit for the Spark Plug Award. This award is for an outstanding unit volunteer who provided a “spark” to help your unit achieve its goals.

The District Award of Merit is the highest honor that the New Horizons District may bestow upon a volunteer.  These recipients demonstrate outstanding service to Scouting and the district by going above and beyond the call of duty. We encourage you to nominate a volunteer from the district for this honor.

Both awards will be presented at the District Recognition Dinner on January 18th. Nomination forms and registration for this event are found at the link below.

Happy Giving Tuesday!

This year as a Council we have given out financial assistance to 5,678 Scouts. This fall alone, we had 451 Scouts request financial assistance! So, we have set a goal to get 451 donations made this Giving Tuesday of $50 or more. The first 451 donors to help us towards this goal will receive a special Giving Tuesday patch as a thank you!
