The spotlight is in the sky and another Scouting Superhero is answering the call!
This morning we are hearing from Eleanor Philips of the District!

"I started volunteering in 1983 when my oldest son was old enough to join. He wasn't sure Scouts was for him but after just one meeting he was hooked! I continue to volunteer because there is a need for leaders who understand Scouting for Special Needs Scouts. Seeing my Special Needs Scouts achieve and progress through the Scouting program keeps me coming back.

When I first started volunteering I wish I knew all the resources out there to help you. Go to roundtables and trainings to learn but also to network with other leaders.

One thing that I think all Scouts should know is to simply enjoy the program and ask for help if you get stuck along the way! As adults we are there to help and guide them along the path and every Scout has a strength and something to share."

Eleanor, thank you for your almost 40 years of service to Scouting.
