The training is required for at least one adult to attend any Cub Scout overnight event, including pack camping and Webelos den overnighters. BALOO is typically offered in the fall and spring and consists of two parts: an online prerequisite and an in-person, hands-on component:

In-person component: This component includes an overnight camping experience and covers topics such as:

        • Selecting and using camping equipment
        • Running a campfire program
        • Cub Scout cooking demonstrations
        • Knife safety
        • Knots
