The Silver Buffalo Award

The Silver Buffalo Award is the national-level distinguished service award of Scouting America. It is presented for noteworthy and extraordinary service to youth on a national basis, either as part of, or independent of the Scouting program. The award is made by the National Court of Honor and the recipient need not be a registered member of Scouting America. The Greater St. Louis Area Council had its first recipient receive the Silver Buffalo Award in 1928.

Silver Buffalo Recipients receive recognition at the National Meeting of Scouting America.

Since 1928, the Greater St. Louis Area Council has had more than 15 Silver Buffalo recipients.
