Camp History Books
Seventy-five years ago the St. Louis Area Council purchased 2,351 acres that would become the Louis D. Beaumont Scout Reservation and in 1954 held its first Boy Scout summer camp at Camp May. To commemorate these anniversaries Tim O’Donnell, Dr. Joseph Sartorius, and Don Dotson wrote “To This You Must Return-the history of the Beaumont Scout Reservation.” The full-color 144 page book chronicles the land, its inhabitants, Scouting adventure, and history. Only 400 copies of the first edition are available.
In 2015, a team of dedicated Scouters wrote “And Hills to Roam-the Story of the S-F Scout Ranch.” This 190 page book was released for the fiftieth anniversary of the Ranch, and quickly sold-out. A second printing was made in 2016 which sold-out within a year. Now, an updated 195 page Second Edition-first printing of 250 copies are available. Pick yours up before they’re gone!
