BSA Aquatics Supervision Training
BSA Aquatics Supervision Swimming and Water Rescue
This hands-on performance-based training covers the skills needed for Safe Swim Defense at the unit level. The course fee includes a copy of Aquatics Supervision, the required textbook.

- Where: Beaumont Scout Reservation
- Who: Must be able to complete Scouting America swimmer classification test, minimum age 15

This hands-on performance-based training covers the skills needed for Safety Afloat at the unit level. The course fee includes a copy of Aquatics Supervision, the required textbook.

Scouting America Aquatics Supervision Paddle Craft Safety River
This course builds on the Basic program to include moving water skills, as well as knowledge, needed for a unit leader to confidently supervise canoeing or kayaking excursions on moving water. Persons completing the training should be even better able to access their preparation to supervise paddle
craft activities in all water conditions.
- When: Sunday, May 10 9am-3pm
- Where: Camp Lewallen, Silva MO.
- Who: Minimum age 15
Pre-Camp Swim Classification Tests
Saturday May 30 / Wednesday June 3 / Friday June 5
Pre-Camp Swim Classification Tests
This is an opportunity for your unit to have your annual Scouting America swim classification test done under the supervision of GSLAC-approved aquatics personnel. A unit swim classification record will be issued by GSLAC Aquatics personnel to each unit showing the swim classification (swimmer, beginner, non-swimmer) of each participant. Although these swim tests are being conducted prior to summer camp, the camp aquatics director is expected to review or retest any scout or leader whose skills appear to be inconsistent with his classification.
When: Saturday May 30 / Wednesday June 3 / Friday June 5
Where: Beaumont Scout Reservation Pool
Time: The Sessions will be divided into 30 minute blocks with a maximum of 15 individuals per session
Who: $8 per participant and 15 participants can be scheduled for each 30 min session.
American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Training
Are you interested in being training to be a Lifeguard Instructor?
We are offering a training course for individuals who are interested in being a Lifeguard Instructor to train instructor candidates to teach the basic-level courses in the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program. The course is offered over 2 days at Beaumont Scout Reservation. There will be two courses offered over these two days: The Lifeguard Instructor Course (cost $35.00) is just the instructor course but if you also need to recertify your Lifeguard Training you can take the duel course ($55.00) to meet both aspects of training. The course includes online pre-work that must be completed before the first class session. The online pre-work details are provided after registration.

- August 15 & 16 9am-6pm
- Participants must attend both sessions.
- Where: Beaumont Scout Reservation Pool
- Who: Any older youth (minimum age 17) or registered adult with strong swimming skills. The course is limited to 10 participants per course.
- Cost:
- $35 for the Lifeguard Instructor Training
- $55 for the combined Lifeguard Instructor Training and the Basic Lifeguard Certification Renewal
- Please note that there will not be a stand alone Basic Lifeguard Certification Renewal offered at this time.
