What to Expect at Camp

 

 

Activities at summer camp vary based on the camp and camp property.

Tiger Advancement Camp

Tiger Advancement Camp is a one-day introduction to advancement-focused camping, designed to be experienced together by Tigers and their adult partners. Scouts attend camp from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the day.  The day includes hands-on activities like archery, BB-guns, STEM exploration, and swimming, along with guided advancement work to help Tigers build confidence and momentum as they enter the new program year. Lunch is included.

Wolf Advancement Camp

Wolf Advancement Camp is a two-day, one-night overnight camp that blends classic summer camp fun with focused advancement opportunities. Wolves will take part in activities such as archery, BB-guns, STEM, swimming, and outdoor games while working on adventures designed to support their advancement this fall.  This camp includes three meals – breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Tuesday – and provides a supportive overnight experience that helps Scouts grow independence while still feeling comfortable and successful.

One night/Two day overnight camping experience for Wolf Scouts

Camp fees includes all meals, tenting (at Camp May), program supplies, and camp patch!

Sleeping Arrangements

Canvas Wall Tent

Walk right into this spacious tent that is set up on off-the-ground on wooden platforms. Each tent includes 2 cots. This option is only available at Camp May and Famous Eagle

Bring Your Own Tent

Do you like using your own tent? Go ahead and bring it to camp! This option is available at all camps.

Campsites

All campsites include a fire ring, pit latrine, picnic table and access to potable water.

Internet and Cell Phones

High Speed Internet is available at Camp May and Famous Eagle. Cell phone coverage can vary depending on carrier and location. If you have specific needs, please reach out to camping@stlbsa.org for more information.

Electricity

Electricity is not available in all campsites and is reserved for those with a medical need such as CPAP machines. Make sure to note such medical needs in your registration to notify the camp. Outlets to recharge devices are available at each camp in common areas such as the dining hall and camp office.

Bear Advancement Camp

Bear Advancement Camp builds on the overnight experience with a two-day, one-night format that offers more time for both fun and advancement. Scouts will rotate through activities like archery, BB-guns, STEM, swimming, and campwide games while completing advancement-related requirements appropriate for Bears.  The camp includes four meals – lunch and dinner on Wednesday, followed by breakfast and lunch on Thursday.

Webelos/Arrow of Light Scout Advancement Camp

Webelos Scouts and Arrow of Light (AOL) Scouts come together for this extended three-day, two-night camp that helps prepare older Cub Scouts for the transition to Scouts BSA. This camp places an even stronger emphasis on independence, teamwork, and leadership while keeping the program fun and engaging. Scouts will participate in archery, BB-guns, STEM challenges, swimming, and outdoor activities, all connected to advancement work that supports their final Cub Scout year(s). The camp includes five meals – breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Friday, plus breakfast and lunch on Saturday.

Two nights/Three day overnight camping experience for those entering 4th grade or 5th grade

Camp fees includes all meals, tenting (at Camp May), program supplies, and camp patch!

Cub Scout Advancement Camp -- Webelos and AOL Scouts / 4th and 5th Grades:     Youth Fee - $185      Adult Fee - $175
