Why attend NYLT?

Through this weeklong outdoor training, male and female Scouts grow and improve their leadership skills while following the guidelines of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. NYLT is conducted during summer camp.

Scouts earning the NYLT shield are better prepared to interact with adult leaders and face the challenges and demands ahead. This course is offered to both male and female scouts. NYLT course fee is $275.

Boy Scout and Venturing Summer Camp

The Greater St. Louis Area Council offers one of the premier summer camp experiences in the Boy Scouts of America. Scouts and Venturers will encounter challenges they first thought were beyond their ability and find programs that stir the imagination. Using the outdoors as our classroom, campers will build character and skills that can be used in their everyday lives. From our facilities, to our staff, to our food, summer camp is better in the Greater St. Louis Area Council.

Scouts and Venturers also have the option of attending any of our many specialty camps. These include Catholic Adventure Week, STEM Camp, the S-F Ranger Program, Boy Scout Week at Swift, Horse Camp, and Eagle Trail Week. We also offer six sessions of National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT), which helps youth build their leadership skills and take that next challenge! More information on all our summer camp options can be found at .
