Hello Pathfinder Leaders!

For the fourth year in a row, the Scouts of the Pathfinder District have the opportunity to serve our community and promote Scouting at the 2026 St. Louis Art Fair, held in downtown Clayton on Friday, September 18 – Sunday, September 20.

The St. Louis Art Fair is one of the premier arts festivals in the country, attracting nearly 200,000 visitors each year, including thousands of families with children. It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase Scouting while serving our community.

What will we be doing?
Once again, Scouting America has partnered with Republic Services to support the Creative Castle, the children’s activity area of the Art Fair. Our booth will be located at the entrance to Creative Castle near the intersection of Forsyth Boulevard and North Central Avenue, next to Starbucks.

Volunteers will:

  • Welcome and engage families visiting the Art Fair with art projects at our booth
  • Share information about Scouting programs and local units
  • Answer questions from prospective families and alumni
  • Distribute recycling information provided by Republic Services
  • Collect worn American flags for respectful retirement
  • Represent Scouting with enthusiasm and a smile!

Last year, Scouts and volunteers from Packs and Troops across Pathfinder District had a great time, and the booth generated strong interest from families looking to join Scouting. We’d love to have your unit be part of it this year!

Hello Pathfinder Leaders, Parents and Volunteers!

I hope you’re having a great summer!

One of the first Pathfinder District events of the new Scouting year is Call of the Wild, our annual campout for Lions (Kindergarten) through Webelos (4th Grade). This year’s event will be held Saturday, September 26 – Sunday, September 27 at Cub World at Beaumont Scout Reservation.

As many of you know, after nearly a decade of faithfully leading Call of the Wild, Amy and Tom Oliver have passed the torch to a growing “kitchen cabinet” of dedicated Pathfinder volunteers. We’re excited to build on the outstanding foundation they created—but we need your help to make this year’s event a success!

We’re looking for volunteers to help staff our activity stations on Saturday, September 26. If you’ve worked one of these stations in the past, we’d love to have you back to share your experience and enthusiasm. If you’re new, we’d be happy to have you join us as well. No previous experience is needed and all supplies will be provided. Station volunteers are to arrive at Beaumont on Saturday at 8am and can depart at 3pm that afternoon or stay for campfire if they are not spending the night.

We’re also inviting Scouts BSA members who are First Class rank or higher to serve on staff. This is a great opportunity for Scouts to earn service hours, practice the EDGE method, strengthen their teaching and leadership skills, and support younger Scouts. It is especially well-suited for Den Chiefs.

You can sign up for a volunteer shift by replying to this email or by using the SignUpGenius link:

Thank you for everything you do for Scouting and for helping make Call of the Wild a memorable experience for the families and youth of Pathfinder District.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Yours in Scouting,

Rob Brockhaus
