There must be a ratio of 1 adult per every 8 children at day camp, however, all Lions (those entering Kindergarten) and Tigers (entering 1st grade in the fall) must have an adult tiger partner with them. The Boy Scouts of America asks that two adults attend every pack activity, including day camp, to fulfill two deep leadership.
Certain camps offer paid leadership at camp, where there is no adult leadership requirement. Those camps include: Grizzly Camp at Beaumont
If you do not have a second leader for two deep leadership, we will pair you with another group at day camp to fulfill that requirement. Or we encourage you to have your child attend a paid leadership camp.
They must at least be entering the kindergarten in the fall of 2024 and older. All Lions (those entering Kindergarten in the fall) and Tigers (entering 1st grade in the fall of 2024) must have an adult partner with them. All children older must adhere to the adult leadership requirement of 1 adult per every 8 children.
No! We welcome any child (boy or girl) to attend day camp if they are of Cub Scout age (at least entering the kindergarten in the fall). Remember, all Lions (those entering kindergarten) and Tigers (entering 1st grade in the fall) must have an adult partner with them.

A campership is a scholarship to attend camp that is offered for up to 50% off the cost of day camp. Camperships are on a first come first serve basis, and are awarded to those who cannot afford the cost of camp.
To complete a campership form, simply register your child(ren) and during the process you will indicate whether you want to apply for a campership. The online registration system is where you will fill out the form.
The camper ship application form can be found HERE.
Camperships are only available to Scouts and units registered in the Greater St. Louis Area Council.
Yes. You are welcome to participate anytime but remember, it could interfere with specific advancements if you miss an activity that is an advancement requirement. You will still have to pay the full price for the week of camp even if you miss a day (or two) or arrive late. Please email your day camp director to let them know if you will miss time at camp.
With your registration, each camper will receive one patch and one t-shirt. For an additional fee of $3 per patch and $8 per t-shirt, you may purchase an extra (while supplies last) through your day camp director or trading post.
Most day camps do not offer before or after care, if this is an area of concern, feel free to reach out to the day camp director of the camp(s) you are interested in and inquire.
Grizzly Day Camps at Beaumont Scout Reservation do offer before or after care. Before care is one hour prior 8AM to 9AM and after care is 4PM to 6PM. You must pay for either before or after care even if you only need it for part of the week. The cost is $35 for either before care and $35 for after care (regardless of how many days you utilize it).
Many of our day camps achieve advancements during the week. Please reach out to the individual day camp director of the camp(s) you are interested in to inquire further.
Yes! If you are a registered adult, you are more than welcome to volunteer at day camp. If you aren’t registered yet, we can sign you up. Please email/call the day camp director of the camp(s) you are interested in to inquire about what position you could help with.
