Completed health forms parts A and B, close-toed shoes, water bottle, lunch/snack,  leadership, and swimming gear if required.

Does the health form require a doctor signature or physical exam?

No! Just parts A and B (no doctor signature required).

Do we have to pre-register or can we walk in?

Please pre-register to guarantee your patch, t-shirt and enough supplies. While walk-ins are welcome, we encourage everyone to pre-register for us to effectively prepare for camp.

What discounts are available?

Early bird discount of $10 off is available until 11:59PM on April 12th 2023. There is a discount for a second week (or third or fourth) of Grizzly Camp at the discounted rate of $105 per week. For every adult volunteer who works on staff at a day camp for all the days of day camp, they can receive a 50% discount off of day camp registration.

The early bird discount will be automatically deducted from the total at registration. For the other two discounts, please contact the program department 314-361-0600 to redeem.

What is your refund policy?

Refund requests made after June 1st are only eligible for a refund of 75% of the total camp fee due to expenses already incurred by the camp

What is the adult supervision/leadership requirement for day camp?

There must be a ratio of 1 adult per every 8 children at day camp, however, all Tigers (entering 1st grade in the fall) must have an adult tiger partner with them. Lions are not old enough to attend day camp. The Boy Scouts of America asks that two adults attend every pack activity, including day camp, to fulfill two deep leadership.

Certain camps offer paid leadership at camp, where there is no adult leadership requirement. Those camps include: Grizzly Camp at Beaumont

What if we do not have 2 adults to attend camp?

If you do not have a second leader for two deep leadership, we will pair you with another group at day camp to fulfill that requirement. Or we encourage you to have your child attend a paid leadership camp.

What age must a child be to attend day camp?

At least 7 years old (or entering the 1st grade in the fall of 2023) and older. All Tigers (entering 1st grade in the fall in the fall of 2023) must have an adult tiger partner with them. All children older must adhere to the adult leadership requirement of 1 adult per every 8 children.

Lions (those entering kindergarten in the fall of 2023) may not attend day camp per the National Boy Scouts of America’s amendment on the Lion program.

Does a child have to be registered member with the Boy Scouts of America to attend day camp?

No! We welcome any child (boy or girl) to attend day camp if they are of Cub Scout age (at least 7 years old or entering the 1st grade in the fall). Remember, all Tigers (entering 1st grade in the fall) must have an adult Tiger partner with them.

Can my non-Scout son/daughter/niece/nephew/child’s friend attend camp with him/her?

Yes! We welcome any child (boy or girl) to attend day camp if they are of Cub Scout age (at least 7 years old or entering the 1st grade in the fall). Remember, all Tigers (entering 1st grade in the fall) must have an adult tiger partner with them.

Do we sign up for day camp as a Cub Scout Pack or as a family?

We encourage everyone to sign up with their pack. But you are able to sign up as a family. Either way, we will group you with the other families in your pack. Questions about signing up for day camp can be directed to the program department at camping@stlbsa.org

Utilize the parent portal to help assist you in registering multiple scouts from different families for summer camp. Information can be found here: Parent Portal How-To Guide

What if a child needs financial assistance?

A campership is a scholarship to attend camp that is offered for up to 50% off the cost of day camp. Camperships are on a first come first serve basis, and are awarded to those who cannot afford the cost of camp.

To complete a campership form, simply register your child(ren) and during the process you will indicate whether you want to apply for a campership. The online registration system is where you will fill out the form.

The camper ship application form can be found HERE.

Camperships are only available to Scouts and units registered in the Greater St. Louis Area Council.

We may miss a day/night of camp or arrive late, can we still participate?

Yes. You are welcome to participate anytime but remember, it could interfere with specific advancements if you miss an activity that is an advancement requirement. You will still have to pay the full price for the week of camp even if you miss a day (or two) or arrive late. Please email your day camp director to let them know if you will miss time at camp.

Can we get an extra patch or t-shirt?

With your registration, each camper will receive one patch and one t-shirt. For an additional fee of $3 per patch and $6 per t-shirt, you may purchase an extra (while supplies last) through your day camp director or trading post.

Is there before or after care offered at day camp?

Most day camps do not offer before or after care, if this is an area of concern, feel free to reach out to the day camp director of the camp(s) you are interested in and inquire.

Grizzly Day Camps do offer before or after care. Before care is one hour prior 8AM to 9AM and after care is 4PM to 6PM. You must pay for either before or after care even if you only need it for part of the week.

Will my child earn advancement at day camp?

Many of our day camps achieve advancements during the week. Please reach out to the individual day camp director of the camp(s) you are interested in to inquire further.

Can I volunteer at day camp?

Yes! If you are a registered adult, you are more than welcome to volunteer at day camp. If you aren’t registered yet, we can sign you up. Please email/call the day camp director of the camp(s) you are interested in to inquire about what position you could help with.

Is lunch/dinner supplied?

No day camps supply lunch. You will need to bring a lunch/dinner and/or a snack. Also, please make sure to bring a reusable water bottle.
